INDIAN HANDICRAFTS

HANDICRAFTS more precisely expressed as HANDMADE, is any of a wide variety of types of work where useful and decorative objects are made completely by hands or by using simple tools only.
Handicraft is defined as which is made by hand,should have some artistic value,they may or may not have functional utility.India is famous for it's ancient culture and diversification.India has a huge variety of products.INDIAN HANDICRAFTS belong to the Indus Valley Civilization way back in 3000 B.C. This was the time when craftsmen were doing excellent work in pottery making,bead making and weaving.Indian Handicrafts include metal ware,hand painted text tiles,shawls,wood ware,bamboo products, zari goods,jewellery, jute products,leather products,carpet etc.
India is famous for it's variety, the variation in living condition and variation in different types of materials available in different parts of the country.
  • Uttar Pradesh and Himanchal Pradesh are famous for metal ware.
  • Gujrat is famous for hand painted texttiles and zari products.
  • Rajasthan is famous for traditional jewellery, puppets,leather products and antique furnitures.
  • Madhya Pradesh is famous for jute handicrafts in India.
  • Karnatak is famoua is famous for fine silk and sandal and rose wood figures.
  • Arunachal Pradesh and Kashmir are famous for carpet weaving,wood carvings and shawls.
